10:15am – 11:30 am: Asana Class: Open your heart and say YES!!: A Heart Opening, Back Bending practice to celebrate the Summer Solstice!
11:30-13:00 Introduction to Sequencing
2-5:15pm. Making Space for Grace: The art of Progressively Sequencing
Backbends so as to keep beginners safe and to take advanced students deeper!
Topics for this session include:
** Exploring the first principle of Inner Body Bright as the magic of opening to deeper back bending
** Active Principles that open the body progressively specifically
** Sequencing Gates: When to take students deeper
** Contraindications for deep back bending
** Benefits of back bending
** Sequencing Strategies
** Being prepared with modifications
** Common Misalignments and helpful adjustments in teaching back bends


Saturday June 22, 2013: 10am – 11:30am Level 1 Asana, Standing and seated twists.
11:30-13:00 Yoga with a Twist: The Art of Progressively Sequencing standing, seated and arm balancing twists.

Topics for this session include:
** Active Principles that apply directly to the practice of twists including muscular engagement to ensure stability of the sacrum, and organic extension of the hips, pelvis, legs downward and the spine upward
** Twisting for the different organ systems
** Twisting with the breath
** Contraindications
** Benefits of practicing twists
** Being prepared with modifications
** Common Misalignments and helpful adjustments in teaching seated twists

2-5:15pm: Opening and Closing: The Art of Progressively Sequencing Hip Openers & Forward bends, and teaching Pranayama

Topics for this section include:
**Active principles that apply directly to opening the hips and forward bends
** Which poses are we talking about when we say “hip openers”?
** Contraindications
** Benefits of hip openers and forward bends
** Being prepared with modifications
** Common Misalignments and helpful adjustments in teaching hip opener


Sunday June 23, 2013: 10am – 11:30 am Level 2 asana, Flying on the Wings of Grace: Progressively sequencing arm balances so all students can enjoy them

11:30-13:00 Topics for this session will include:
** Active principles that apply to the practice of arm balances
** Sequencing gates: When to take your students further
** Contraindications & Benefits
** Being prepared with modifications
** Common misalignments and helpful adjustments

2-5:15pm: Upside Down Fun: Progressive sequencing in teaching Inverted positions and meditation.
Topics for this session will include:
** Active principles that apply to the practice of inversions
** Sequencing gates: When to take your students further
** Contraindications & Benefits of inverted positions
** Being prepared with modifications
** Common misalignments and helpful adjustments
** Basic Meditation Instructions

Deb Neubauer, Certified Yoga Instructor since 2000, E-RYT 500, Founding Member of Kula Evolution and Karma Krew Representative has been a student of yoga since 1985, and a practicioner of meditation since 1995. Deb’s teaching is infused by streams of light and inspiration generously offered by all her teachers and her own self-generated wisdom experienced through daily practice spanning over 25 years.

Jayendra Hanley received Anusara yoga teacher certification in 2001 and has been studying with the founder of Anusara, John Friend, for 20 years. He currently lives in the Netherlands and is supporting students and teachers of Anusara yoga with workshops, Immersions, and Teacher Trainings throughout Europe. Not only is Jayendra fully versed in the Anusara method, including having profound knowledge of the yoga scriptures and tradition, he is also a very loving and skilled teacher who serves his students well. Jayendra is a member of the Anusara Leadership Committee and the Teacher Certification Committee and is very skilled at mentoring teachers towards Anusara certification.

You will recieve an email with all needed informations. Your space is secured after you completed the payment in total to the account of Openlotus. Cancellation possible until: 15.05.2013 except for 10€ administration fee.
At any time you can name someone else to take your place for free.
Cancellation after 15.05.2013 is only possible if Openlotus can give your space to someone else. In this case your payment will be returned in total exept for 10€ adminstration fee.


Something to know

During workshops Openlotus offers lunch, vegetarian and prepared by our lovely cook Kathrin. You will recieve an email with the information about the food offer. You can decide if you want to join in or not.
Openlotus can be reached by public transportation, Cologne Metro. Coming from Central station you need to go to NEUMARKT. There you switch lines to Nr. 7 going in direction ZÜNDORF. Take the stop RAIFFEISENSTRASSE, from there it is 5 minutes walking distance.
Coming from the airport: it only takes 20 minutes to reach us with Taxi, also easily via public transportation within 50 minutes.
