Every Pose is Tadasana – Seeing and Adjusting Yoga Asana – As students of yoga we have heard that „every pose is tadasana“ many times.
Feeling the essential alignment principles at work in your own body, along with seeing them at play in your students‘ bodies, is the major factor in determining how best to support students into effective and free flowing asanas. Cultivate the ability to effectively apply your „eye“ and skillfully determine which adjustment is the most beneficial to support the student to be a better teacher.
Take the Time to Align – Functional Anatomy – Take an anatomical tour of the body observing some of the most frequently practiced asanas taught in most classes. What muscles are to be working and what muscles are recruited improperly, when asana is not done with awareness. Learn why it is essential to encourage your students to take the time to align.
The Spine and the Four Corners of the Torso – Most any therapeutic aspect of yoga is based upon being familiar with the spine and the integration of the pelvis and shoulder sockets. Once we employ our knowledge of this, we can observe what the body may need to come into harmony. Supporting the student to trust the practice is a potent therapeutic towards self-healing.
Yoga Classes – Teacher Training Intensive :
We can approach some level 2-3 poses and how to get there via sequences.
